Make a cool, chunky bangle bracelet during this 3 hour class. Learn how to make the twisted wire components that you add to your collection of unique charms, lampwork (and other) beads....all items are carried on a chunky wire core that is the base of the bangle. Learn how to create your own professional connector (clasp) that is also decorative. Great for holiday gift making.

In this basics flat metal class, students will learn basic jewelry designing skills and metal work techniques such as, sawing, filing, texturing, stamping, drilling, cold connections, cleaning and polishing. During this 1 session you will use studio equipment to create 1 to 2 pieces in sterling silver. Additional silver may be purchased from the instructor. Basic tools and hammers are available for purchase in our design center.

Taught by JANICE J. BAILEY of JJB'S SILVER & MORE. Build on your basic skills by adding soldering and/or annealing techniques used together with hammering and/or the creation of bezels to set stones. This class should be repeated up to 3 times so that additional torch skills and techniques such as: fitting, framing, weaving may be learned. Create 1 to 2 pieces in silver during this 2 session class. (some final cleaning may require additional time in the studio)

Janice Bailey of JJB Silver & More will present several different techniques in wire wrapping, knotting and chaining. It is possible to create 1 to 2 finished pieces during this 3 hour class. You may create pins, earrings, necklace, pendant or bracelet. 10 feet of copper wire provided but students should bring a selection of beads. (a great class for using your own Lampwork Beads!)

Create your own Byzantine weave bracelet. Using ancient techniques, students
will learn how to link sterling silver (or copper) rings together to form their
own high end bracelet. Materials and tools to use during class will be provided. Bring
a few coordinating lampwork or other beads to use as spacers. The
technique may be expanded for necklaces (more materials needed)
or minimized for use in earrings.

Create your own European 4-in-1 Bracelet with
Custom Clasp during this daylong workshop. Using ancient techniques, students
will learn how to weave (link) sterling silver rings together to form a slinky
bracelet. Student will also learn how to construct a custom clasp using sterling
wire and a bead. Materials and tools to use during class will be provided. Bring
a lampwork or other bead to use in the clasp.

Taught by JANICE J. BAILEY of JJB'S SILVER & MORE. A beginner level class (no prior metal experience needed) in the technique of capping beads which is geared toward lampworkers but anyone with special beads can join in this class. Capping beads is a riveting technique (no solder or adhesive) that attaches sterling silver domes (caps) on each side of a focal bead creating a finished professional look. Students will complete 1 to 2 simple capped beads and go on to learn how to stamp, pierce or hammer the silver caps before forming and attaching to beads. Students should bring a variety of beads with 1/8" holes that have gently domed ends (no cone shaped or pointed ends). Wear comfortable working clothes to class.Class fee includes silver caps for 2 beads and 1 silver tube (which is likely long enough to cap 4 beads)

This class will advance your cutting, shaping and soldering skills in the creation of your own professionally finished, silver linked chain with clasp. Make a short chain for a bracelet or a longer one for a necklace. Choose one of the chain styles shown above and use studio equipment or your own if you have the tools and want to bring them.
