Class Meets: Saturday from 1:00 to 6:00
Class Date: July 29th, 2006 ( or schedule this class with a group
of friends!)
Instructor: Julie Rose
Charm bracelets are back in fashion. This class adds an artistic twist to the traditional design now seen in boutiques. This is an excellent class for the beginning beader as the basic technique of twisting wire, head pins and eye pins into drop units is the emphasis. Students will make their own unique bracelet which may include one-of-a-kind lampwork beads, Bali silver beads, charms and Swarovski crystals. The bead obsessed will enjoy this class since we put a heavy dose of design strategy into our beading classes that will take students beyond the "cookie cutter" approach and challenges each participant to create their own wearable art.

Create your own space dyed yarns. This is great for knitters, weavers and art quilters, too. We supply work space and the dye. Bring** 2 skeins (or pre-measured warps) that weigh 1/2 pound each. Yarn should be cotton, rayon or cotton/rayon blend yarn for each session. Choke ties should be looser so they don't act as a resist when the yarn is wet and swollen. Tammy will explain the basics of working with fiber-reactive dyes at the beginning of each session. Please indicate which time slot you prefer and/or you may sign up for more than one sessions at the paypal screen. Students should wear old clothes to class and bring 2 sheets of plastic 18" X 36", a small plastic tub and rubber gloves.
