HATS 2008
A JURIED EXHIBITION & SALE
October 13th through November 30th

PARTICIPATION:
Hats 2008 is open to all artists and designers doing original work. Only hats of
your own design and individual effort are eligible. All entries must be
wearable.
PHOTOS OR SLIDES:
High quality photos or slide which are tightly focused must be submitted by July
15, 2008 with a non-refundable entry fee of $3.00 per hat entry. Up to 5
entries per person. Be sure to include your name, phone number and entry # on
each photo/slide...digital photos now acceptable (.jpg format 250kb max). Photos/Slides will be returned when a self addressed, stamped
envelope is provided.
Photo/Slides of approved hats will be retained for free use by TLD.
DESIGNS to publicize & promote this event and returned if/when possible.
Additionally, we reserve the right to photograph any or all hats accepted for
the Exhibit regardless of copyright. Proper credit will absolutely be
honored.
DELIVERY / RETURN OF UNSOLD HATS:
Approved hats should arrive at TLD DESIGNS (free from freight) 26 E. Quincy
St., Westmont, IL 60559 by October 1, 2008. Hats will be
available for return or pick-up after December 2, 2008 . (please include
a self-addressed return label and sufficient funds to cover shipping/insurance or else there will be a delay returning unsold
items and may result the assessment of storage fees)
SHOW OPENING / FASHION SHOW:
Hats 2008 will officially open on Monday, October 13th with a live fashion show for the DuPage Textile Arts Guild in Darien and then again in the Evening at 6:30pm with a wine tasting event at the deVine Wine shop at 29 N. Cass Ave in Westmont (1 block North of the TLD Design Center) All unsold hats will return to the TLD Design Center at 26 E Quincy St., Westmont and remain on display until November 30th. (unless they are sold) TLD Design Center will accept full responsibility for damage or loss during the fashion show events.
AWARDS AND SALES:
A $25 ~ "Best of Show" award will be selected from the actual hats
submitted. Sales are encouraged to further the efforts of the
artists/designers. Entrants shall price their own work, and these prices should
be representative of established market value for their work. The prices, as
stated on the application, may not be changed during the entire run of the
show. Only one "Not for Sale" entry allowed per person. Only those
hats approved will be exhibited. This Gallery retains only 30% (most
galleries keep 40% or even 50%) of the retail price when the item is sold!
LIABILITY:
TLD Design Center personnel will exercise all reasonable care with photo/slides and accepted entries, but it is clearly understood by the artist/designer that we assume no responsibility and shall not be held liable for any damage
of any kind caused or occurring while work is on exhibition at 26 E. Quincy St.,
Westmont or during shipping. If an article is lost due to theft, TLD Design
Center will reimburse the artist the lesser amount of $100 or 70% of the
established retail price. Artists/Designers who wish additional protection should insure their entries independently.
AGREEMENT:
Your entry and acceptance to Hats 2008 constitute your agreement to all
conditions stated in this prospectus.
