Brian is primarily a self taught artist/craftsman, landscape designer and has been serving as Tammy's partner and assistant at the TLD Design Center since 1999.
Brian's artistic endeavors include the creation of collage/assemblage granite sculptures, a series of whimsical creatures created from tree limbs and branches, hand-built ceramic creatures and functional objects, fused glass candle holders and trivets. Brian will assist Tammy with her felting projects and the pair have collaborated on several other design projects in the area of jewelry and glass work. He has demonstrated ceramics and wood creature construction during "Artist in Action" activities in grammar schools and during Westmont Area Friends of the Arts activities.
In the Design Center & Gallery, Brian will set up and prepare the rooms for the various classes, interact with students interested in scheduling classes, write-up customer purchases....as well as, performing general maintenance of the classroom, gallery and grounds. Brian will often be the first contact customers and students will have at the design center......it is quite common for customers to comment to Tammy that they spoke to the "nicest man" the first time the phoned or visited.
Each Spring/Summer season, Brian will accept 2 to 3 landscape jobs which allow him to create outdoor design features....usually consisting of hand stacked rock and/or building blocks. He works each job as the sole workman, which allows him to focus on each meticulous detail.
Brian is a member of the following organizations: West Suburban Lapidary Club, and the Westmont area Friends of the Arts.
Brian is available for "Artists in Action" Activities and Artist Demonstrations. Please inquire for fees and scheduling .
